There are some love stories that feel like they were written just for the movies—or, in this case, written by the hand of something greater. Madison and her handsome groom, Benji, met in the summer of 2021 while working as cabin leaders at the same Bible camp, and what unfolded from that summer spark turned into the sweetest celebration of love, faith, and forever.

How They Met: A Second First Date
After that magical summer, Benji and Madison dated through the fall—where, fun twist, Benji introduced her twin sister to her now-husband! Life took them in different directions for a couple of years, but fate (and family weddings!) brought them back together. They reconnected at her sister’s wedding, and just a week later, Benji drove to Minnesota to take her on their second first date. Six months of long-distance dating later, she moved back to Iowa—and within a week, Benji proposed! Cue all the happy tears.

All the Dreamy Details
From the moment guests arrived at the venue, it was clear—this wedding was going to be something truly special. The entire day felt like stepping into a real-life garden party, with pastel hues, eclectic touches, and timeless details around every corner.
A Faith-Filled Ceremony
Benji and his bride’s faith-filled ceremony was emotional from the start—he began to cry the moment she walked down the aisle. Surrounded by loved ones, they exchanged heartfelt vows, committing their marriage to the Lord. It was a simple, sacred moment that perfectly reflected their love and faith.

The Dress
At Mara, we believe every bride should have that "this is it!" moment—and for Madison, it happened the moment she saw the back of her gown.
“The back of my dress was what I fell in love with the first time I saw it—oh my goodness!” she said. “It had the most elegant and timeless look in the front, and then the open back and trailing straps added so much. That element of the dress felt like it was made for me.”

Favorite Wedding Day Memory
Of all the joyful moments, the couple’s private last dance stands out as the most memorable.
“It’s hard to describe the gratitude we felt for the day we had just experienced and the overwhelming joy we had over finally being husband and wife,” the bride shared. “I’m so glad we had that moment to let the day sink in.”

Her Advice for Future Brides
“Document this season of your life in whatever way fits you best—take the videos, snap the pictures, write moments down. This season is truly one to treasure, as is your marriage!”
