Real Bride Laura in Lillian West: Dreamy Northern Ireland Wedding
Are you ready for a magical journey through one of the most enchanting weddings we’ve had the pleasure of being a part of? Grab a cup of tea and settle in, because we’re taking you to the stunning coast of Northern Ireland, where romance, adventure, and a breathtaking dress came together for an unforgettable wedding day!
It all started with a vision. Our bride, Laura, had been captivated by the designs of Lillian West and when she heard about a trunk show happening at Mara, she knew she had to be there. She even snagged one of the last available appointments! With her mom by her side, she found the dress of her dreams—elegant and form-fitting, with those jaw-dropping sleeves that seemed to whisper “I belong on a cliffside.”
After a tour at the Jameson distillery in Dublin, Laura and Alex calmed their pre-first-look nerves with a shot of whiskey from a personalized bottle in their rental cottage!
The nerves were real as Laura prepared to wear the dress. After traveling with the dress packed in their luggage for a week without a steamer, she was thrilled to see it still looking flawless! The fit was perfect, and her nerves turned into pure excitement. Her husband's teary eyes at the first look melted her heart (and ours!).
Laura's favorite part about her gown? Hands down, the sleeves! Long, flowy, with cascading appliques and just the right amount of sparkle - truly one of a kind!
The couple's photographer had them climbing all over the coast where they witnessed the biggest waves they have ever seen and yes, the sea water was COLD!
Their Celtic ceremony next to the castle was pure magic. The couple completed the handfasting ceremony, shared whiskey during the Quaich ceremony, and exchanged their Claddagh rings.
They wrapped up the ceremony in the cozy castle cottage, sharing heartfelt personal vows with each other.
Right after the ceremony, Laura and Alex were on the move. They traveled to the Giant's Causeway which stole their hearts with its beauty, just before the rain started to fall.
Making pit stops at traditional pubs to warm up was a must. They even got to go behind the bar to pour a local favorite, a pint of Guinness!
Their romantic first night as newlyweds at the Rider’s Lodge at Stay Lagom, with a wood-fired hot tub and fireplace, was pure bliss. And the perfect end to our perfect day? Discovering their first dance song, “The Little Things”, on Grafton Street in Dublin, dancing in the living room by the fireplace with champagne in hand!
Laura, your wedding was truly a fairytale come to life, and it was such a privilege to be part of your journey. Cheers to you both—may your life together be filled with as much love and wonder as your wedding day.
